  • March 11, 2012

The Top50 Junior Tour has announced the following:

The Top 50 Junior Tour, partnered with the National Golf Scholarship Association, has officially released the 2012 Junior Tour schedule. Over the course of the upcoming golf season more than 500 Junior Golfers will compete across the state of Michigan in 50 tournaments for their chance to earn scholarships.

The Top 50 Junior Tour was launched in 2003 and has since grown and expanded across the state of Michigan as well as to Arizona and Florida. The National Golf Scholarship Association has combined efforts with the Top50 Junior Tour and Student Golfer Magazine to provide students (ages 9 to 18) with one of the most comprehensive student development programs in the country.

In addition to hundreds of professionally managed competitive tournaments each season, the NGSA provides students with opportunities to earn scholarship awards, play free competitive tournaments, and college enrollment and recruiting assistance.

“I’m very excited for the 2012 season,” says PGA Golf Professional and current Top50 Junior Tour Director Danny Thomas. He added, “the Top50 Junior Tour continues to grow and the National Golf Scholarship Association offer students more scholarship opportunities each year. We are hopeful that this year will be a record breaking year with our fund raising efforts, which will provide even more students with scholarships for college.”

The primary goal of the NGSA and Top50 Junior Tour is to encourage students to participate in the game of golf, enhance the playing ability of student golfers, and build character in the participants. The unique format of the Top50 Junior Tour provides students with numerous goal oriented competitive playing opportunities, student recognition, and scholarship awards for deserving Student Golfers who have the desire to attend college. There are numerous opportunities to be awarded scholarship points including, tournament participation, skills challenges, community service, rules of golf exams, essays, and academics.
