Falling Tree Kills Woman in White Lake, Lesbian Couple Fights Adoption Law

1. A tragic accident struck in White Lake this week as a tree fell on the roof of a SUV driving on Pontiac Lake Road, causing a West Bloomfield woman to lose control of her vehicle, which fell into a ravine. She died as a result of her injuries, reported White Lake Patch.

2. An Oakland Community College student and Farmington Hills resident came up missing after a recent trip to Syria, according to the Detroit News.

3. An Oakland County lesbian couple is fighting a law that prohibits adoptions by umarried couples, reported the Detroit Free Press.

4. ABC TV 12 reported that a Flint woman shot and killed her boyfriend thinking he was an intruder.

5. Brighton Schools plan to put an $88 million bond on the ballot in May, according to Brighton Patch.
