51st District House of Representatives

State Rep. Joe Graves (R-Argentine Township) who won his seat as 51st District Representative seat in February after Paul Scott was recalled, is running for re-election. He recently submitted a letter to the editor about the Michigan Pension Tax. He also Wants to Make Area Safe for Families.

Graves will have a rematch Democrat with Steven Losey.

Steven Losey (D-Linden) will bef Grave's opponents for the 51st District seat. He didn't agree with Grave's letter to the editor about the pension tax. He posted on Fenton Patch "...Appears that you've been wasting a lot of time and money (taxpayers) creating and introducing something that's already been done. Must be election time?..."

Losey also Wants to Represent Middle Class in Lansing.

Genesee County Board of Commisioners

Fenton Township trustee Tony Brown is not running for re-election for his current position, but making a bid to be on the Genesee County Board of Commisioners for the 6th District. The drug prevention group Community Parent President and Founder has been busy fighting the community war against drugs, most recently with K2 and Spice.

He will run against Libertarian Jonathan T. Ettinger.

Fenton Township Board

There are several candidates that will fill spots on the Fenton Township board, including Shaun Shumaker. Incumbents Mark Goupil, Robert Kesler, who Wants to Maintain Public Safety and Vince Lorraine, who Wants to Continue to Give Back to Community will all serve another term as they are running unopposed.

Fenton Township Clerk Bob Krug, who has held the position for 12 years, has filed to run for re-election and will run unopposed Tuesday. He recently voted no on a liquor license transfer approval for the former Tee-Bonez site because of the owner's history with the law. Supervisor Bonnie Mathis and treasurer John Tucker will also run unopposed.

Mosquito Control Assement Renewal in Fenton Township

Shall each parcel of real estate in the Township upon which there is located a dwelling or commercial building be assessed the sum of up to $30 per year per commercial building and per dwelling unit commencing with the December 2013 property tax statements for a four year period to fund the continuation of the Township Mosquito Control Program for the calendar years 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017?

While the Fenton $9.6 million bond proposal failed in May, and a revised $8.4 million version will be on the Nov. 6 ballot

There are three Fenton Board of Education Candidates competing for one four-year term, including Dior Rushton, Drew Shapiro and Sandra Mathews-Barnes.
