Fenton, Lake Fenton Schools Closed Again

Temperatures are expected to rise to 58 degrees today.

Weather conditions once again forced area officials to cancel school for Lake Fenton and Fenton Tuesday.

Fenton Area Public Schools posted that icy road conditions were the cause. All sporting events will go on as scheduled, accoring to Fenton Athletic Director Mike Bakker.

Both schools also cancelled class on Monday.

Temperatures are expected to climb to 58 today, with continuing rain. Showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight, with a chance of heavy rain. Rain is also expected Wednesday and Wednesday night before turning to snow.

There were several car accidents listed on the Genesee County 911 Consortium Tuesday morning. Stay safe during your commute Monday morning by checking our life traffic map before you leave for work.

Drive in to Warren today was very wet, but not bad. Grew up near Romeo, when this weather hits, ground is still frozen and rain hitting backroads turns straight to sheet ice. I think for a district with a lot of students off the main roads, it makes a lot of sense.

Amen, Michael. All these naysayers need to drive a school bus filled with 50 kids down one of those icy dirt roads a couple of times. Safety should always come first.
