The warm weather has undoubtedly had your pet leaving a few hairs around the house.
That's why it's the busiest time of the year for Barking Babes Boutique in Fenton as dogs are coming in for haircuts.
"Most of them like it. It's like a spa to them," said store manager Marisa Suarez. "We are busier for open houses and everyone wants their dog looking good."
However, grooming is not the only thing that's popular at the pooch palace during the summer. Life vests and strollers are also big seller, Suarez said. She also said cooling vests that can cool down dogs for six hours are very popular when the temperatures rise.
"We have all sizes from chihuahuas to labs," Suarez said.
During the summer, the store also gets a few orders for dog wedding dresses, some even designed to match the bride's gown. They also sell tutus, caps and gowns and can customize any outfit.
"Big dogs, little dogs with the fabric of their choice, Suarez said.
If behavior is an issue, Barking Babes offers private sessions for obedience training, and don't forget gourmet treats for rewards.
