Fenton Township's Tony Brown Lone Candidate to File for County Board's 6th District
Three newcomers file for Fenton Township board.
Tony Brown hopes to make the jump from Fenton Township Trustee to Genesee County Board of Commissioners.
He was the lone candidate to file for the District 6 seat.
"I will be happy to serve," he said.
He has served on the Fenton Township board for eight years. He is also the CEO and president of Community Parent, Inc. and is founder of the Tri-County Debate League. He graduated from Lake Fenton High School in 1989 and works as a manager for an adhesive company. He is married to Sonya Brown and has two children Alex and Corinne.
“I like the challenge of going into the county and making positive changes,” Brown has said. “There are some budgetary woes and I think I can shed some light on what needs to be done.”
Two newcomers, Andrew Marko and Shaun Shumaker have filed to help fill Brown's spot on the Fenton Township board, along with incumbents Mark Goupil, Robert Kesler and Vince Lorraine.
Incumbents, supervisor Bonnie Mathis, clerk Bob Krug and treasurer John Tucker also filed to try and reclaim their seats.
Nikki Hadley filed to run for Township clerk.
