Matt Sherrow was still technically working, but he called it a day off anyways.

Fenton Winery & Brewery owners Matt and his wife Ginny have been working nearly around the clock on a 3,600 square foot expansion of their location at 1545 North LeRoy Street.

However, they took a break to participate in the 3rd Annual Detroit Beer Festival on Saturday at the Eastern Market.

There were more than 300 beers from more than 50 of Michigan's craft breweries.

The Fenton Winery & Brewery served up three ounce samples of their Midnight Wheat Porter, Staggering Imperial Nut Brown, Imminent Double IPA and Beach Head Belgian Tripel.

It's back to work this week, however, as the Sherrows plan to have the new space open by Nov. 1. They plan to host a grand opening week at the end of January.
