Musicians performed in a small corner of Fenton Winery & Brewery for several years after business opened.
But when owners Matt and Ginny Sherrow decided to expand the business late last year, they decided to designate a larger space and small stage for their musical guests.
Fenton Patch readers like the change.
They overwhelmingly voted Fenton Winery & Brewery the best place for live music in Fenton with 72 percent of the vote.
"The expansion has allowed us the space to create the cozy atmosphere that people enjoy so much – the leather chairs situated around coffee tables, lounge chairs arranged in comfortable side rooms, and more space at the bar and around the pub our pub tables," Matt Sherrow said. "Overall, the expansion has allowed us to include a lot of the things that our guests were looking for and enjoyed from our original space."
However, the Sherrows have always tried to create create an atmosphere that is comfortable and inviting and one that fosters great conversations and time together with friends. They have been careful to be sure that the music is there if you want to listen to it, but not so loud that you feel that you have to yell across the table to talk to your fellow guests.
"We focus on having the best variety of live, local music so that each time you come in, you will be treated to something new," Sherrow said. "We’ve had just about every genre of music in our place."
