Fire Departments Issue Burning Ban in Tyrone Township
Burning permits are no longer valid until the ban is lifted.
The three fire departments that serve Tyrone Township in Livingston County have issued an outdoor burn ban effective today until further notice, said Fenton Fire Chief Robert Cairnduff. All burn permits that have been issued for Tyrone Township are no longer valid, until the ban is lifted.
The ban extends to all outdoor fires within Tyrone Township, Cairnduff said. The near-drought conditions make the chance of fire spreading an extreme danger, and the ban on outdoor burning will stay in effect until conditions improve.
In addition, the three fire departments serving the township agree the ban should take effect immediately. The departments are Fenton, Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority and Fenton Township.
For the Fourth of July holiday, all Tyrone Township residents are urged to use extreme caution when using fireworks.
