1. Weather

The National Weather Service's forecast for today is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 87 degrees. Tonight's forecast is for a low of 66, with thunderstorms likely at 60 percent.

2. Filling the Tank

The lowest gas prices in Fenton late Tuesday night were $4.04 per gallon, according to Mapquest Gas Prices. Stations offering this price were Owen Road BP Food Shop, 3238 Owen Rd.; Speedway #8405 (discount available), 3245 Owen Rd.; Sunoco, 3325 Owen Rd., Speedway #5509 (discount available), 3340 Owen Rd.; and Fenton Marathon, 402 W. Silver Lake Rd.

3. News

Some orchards that lost most of their apple crops after an early spring followed by freezing temperatures, are bringing in apples from other areas, the Tri-County Times reports. These orchards include Spicer's and Diehl's. Mueller's Orchard, in Fenton Township, will not be opening this year.

4. Events

Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St. in Fenton, is hosting Family Fun Connect Night, from 6:30-8 p.m. today. The free event will include pizza, bounce houses and games for 3-year-olds through senior high students. There will be a Bible study for adults and nursery care for youngsters.

5. Looking Ahead

Gatsby Grind, 14330 N. Fenton Rd. in Fenton, is hosting a free Art Appreciation from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. It's a fun morning for kids, studying Monet and painting pictures worthy of frames.
