No matter what happened one Hartland teammate was going to be excited, while the other disappointed.
Hartland teammates and friends Austin Eicher and James Gorial, who both live in Fenton, faced each other in the individual state wrestling championship at the Palace of Auburn Hills Saturday.
Eicher edged Gorial with a 5-0 victory and claimed the individual state title at 130 pounds in Division 1.
"We've known each other since we were little kids, he's one of my best friends," Eicher said. "We just warmed up and went out and wrestled to the best of our ability."
