They won’t clean up after your dog. They can’t install “no-maintenance” plants or put in a lawn that stays green without watering. Even with their best efforts Shoemaker Services workers can’t mow a lawn without making any noise. And despite their name, the business doesn’t repair shoes.
The family owned landscape company has received many strange requests during its 19 years in Fenton, and while they are unable to perform the impossible, employees are positive they can have your yard looking better than ever at an affordable price.
“Some of the smallest and cheapest things that people can do around their home can make a world of difference,” operations manager Cory Shotton said.
He said instead of adding more mulch, some mulch can be flipped over to get the color that washed out, back on top. Dead heading plants, trimming the bushes, and cutting the suckers off trees are things that also can give the outside of a home a small makeover, Shotton added.
Even though mowing and fertilizer is the biggest part of the business, landscaping is the most popular.
“The award winning designs and uniqueness of the landscaping that the design team puts together and that our staff builds are some of the best around,” Shotton said.
He said the landscaping season kicks off in April and doesn’t usually slow down until November. So if you are looking to spruce up the outside of your home, you can log on to get an estimate, whether it’s for a patio, flower bed maintenance, retaining wall or shrub trimming.
Just note “landscaping magic" is not an option.
