Crime Report: Money, Credit Cards Stolen From C & C Resale
The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction
Fenton Police are searching for two theft suspects after the owner of C & C Resale, 1580 North Leroy St., told police a woman took a large amount of money and five credit cards from her purse around 5:40 p.m. on May 30.
The owner reported two women entered the store with a small child and when one woman distracted the owner in the back of the store, the other found the purse and took the money, Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said.
Police discovered the suspects used the credit card at the Burton Walmart to purchase three gift cards for a large amount of money. Aro said police learned from Grand Blanc Township Police that similar incidents had occurred in Grand Blanc as well.
Police are working on getting video footage from Walmart as the case remains under investigation.
Catalytic converters stolen
Several catalytic converters have been stolen from vehicles parked in Fenton during the last several days, Aro said.
He said thefts have occurred in the VG’s parking lot, Silver Lake car pool lot and parking lots near Poplar Street. He said thieves have been likely using a battery powered saw to cut out the converters.
“It’s tough to catch because it only take a few moments,” Aro said.
He did say police believes some of the thefts are believed to have taken place during the day. Aro said anyone that sees something suspicious should call the Fenton Police at 810-629-5311.
