Uncle Ray's! Not only do they have delicious ice cream made from real ingredients, but the customer service has never been less than stellar any of the times that my family has gone there! They are always ready to offer up samples, write messages on cookies for their delicious frozen yogurt pies, write messages on ice cream cakes, etc. They are always smiling and we have always felt welcome.

Uncle Ray's is great. But let's throw Coldstone in there. Just to make it interesting.

There is Panda Ice....sugar free, gluten free, etc.,
Very healthy, delicious, and inexpensive. I get a 6 oz and my daughter a 8 oz and we pay about $5.00 for it.

Uncle Rays has HOMEMADE custard ice cream (not soft serve, but REAL homemade ice cream that is creamy and delicious!).

Culvers Frozen Custard is most definently not soft serve! Much firmer texture and it's made fresh every two hours, it doesn't sit in a bucket all day.

Obviously, you have not eaten Uncle Ray's custard ice cream (it is not soft serve...in other words, it does not come out of a machine)

UNCLE RAY'S hands down and cones up! Not only are the Durant guys geared toward quality products, they support the community in which they grew up and still live in. Got a benefit coming up, could on them to pitch in, need a special order, it's done. There is nothing they won't try to do to satisfy a customer. Great local product made by great local guys! Stephanie P...how can you think Panda water ice is healthy with the amount of sugar they use, ask them how much sugar goes into their products. LOTS

Just because ice cream doesn't come out of a machine does not make it soft serve... Either way. I believe both places serve completely different products, both of which are delicious.

Right, we all like different things and I am thankful that Fenton has enough diversify where ice cream shoppes are concerned, to satisfy most all of us here. :)

It takes just as much sugar to make Ice Cream (or more) than it does to make water Ice! Add in the Butter fat, and cholesterol....Its a hands down artery clogger! Change does not come easy to people! Panda Water Ice is made by local folks, in thier factory ,right on the premises! Culvers is not an Ice cream shop! It is a Hamburger place, that sells custard! Panda water Ice has 32 delicious fat free, chlosterol free, soy free, whey free and gluten free flavors! Think of people with allergies!!!! all these years they couldn't have a frozen treat??? Now they can!!! Panda Water Ice Company has a beautiful indoor area to sit...or a alfresco patio, with a waterfall!!!! If you want Ice cream...Panda has Egg Free Ice cream...like Breyers and Ben and Jerry's!!!! Pure Vanilla and pure Chocolate! In regular or fat free, sugar free!!! Uncle Rays sells Ice Cream and Yogurt....Panda sells water Ice, and there is no reason to be rude!!!! I am sure if someone approached Panda they would participate in any fundraiser!!! They are sponsering a Dance troupe, and an Autism Fundraiser! This is 2012!!! Let's not be so rude to new coming things!!! If ther had been no change....we would still be riding horses and wearing victorian dresses....I'm just sayin!!!

Amy, my niece owns an ice cream shoppe in Goodrich, MI, called Moo Cows. Therefore, I understand that businesses need to advertise, brag and get there shops recognized by the public. But I would be highly embarrassed if my niece posted on a public consumer poll just to tout her own shop. A lot of people like your shop, and that is great. But other people like other shops. This poll is for the public to vote and comment on, not the owners.

Amy, you neglected to say that you are the owner of Panda Water Ice and that you are new to town. I understand that you did a "fund raiser" on the 4th of July, donating $1 toward every $3 cup of product you sold. Uncle Ray's donateas everything toward the fund raisers they participated in, nothing went back to them. Todd and Dave were born and raised in Fenton, still live in our community, with deep Fenton roots and love for the people who live here. I agree the products are very different, so are the people who own these businesses and their attitudes. Sorry, not being rude, Amy...you needed to state that you were the owner of Panda Water from the get go instead of getting defensive. You're new to our community and I've heard you make rude remarks twice about local well respected businesses, once during the July 4th celebration and once at the first Farmer's Mkt. That's not a great way to win friends and customers. Yes, Crust IS a bakery--even though you stated you can bake it better at home and if you aren't happy with Fenton's Farmer's Market--don't participate, but on the other hand, don't expect the locals to support your business either. End of any remarks about you or your new business.

I was not bashing any local business's fare! I was simply correcting improper information on our product! I am a consumer! I also have freedom of speech! We cannot possibly compete with businesses that have been open 20plus years..... We have only been open 40 days! I am not marketing on this site! We have tv commercials for that.... Can't everyone just lighten up? If you buy a pork chop from VG's .... Does wallmart care? It's just a blog.... I voted for uncle rays ! Please give us a fair chance !
