Just in time for the steaming hot temperatures, the Panda Water Ice Company opened in Fenton.
The frozen treat shop opened last weekend at 1539 N. Leroy Street.
"The response has been wonderful," owner Steve "Panda" Berman said. "We have doubled our sales everyday since opening."
The business serves freshly made water ice or sorbetto (which means in Italian to eat and drink at the same time) with at least 32 varieties on hand at any time from a selection of hundreds.
"The sorbetto is scoops like ice cream but is dairy-free, egg-free, whey-free and even though it is 1/3 the calories of ice cream, we also offer some flavors in sugar-free," Berman said. "Therefore, people with allergies, lactose problems, weight problems and diabetes have a frozen treat available to them."
The Panda Water Ice Company hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting June 26. The shop opens daily at noon and is open until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
