Thursday Night is Ladies Night in Fenton
Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation event gives women a chance to get pampered.
Ladies, it’s time to let your hair down…or curled, or straightened.
It’s up to you at the 10th annual Ladies’ Night Out hosted by the Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation Department. The event takes place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Activity Center and will feature pampering from hair salons, massage parlors, jewelers and more.
“Women just like a night to get away,” Meghan Balint, special events coordinator said. “The holidays are winding down and this gives women a chance to do something for themselves."
Elle Marie Hair Studio, 401 South Leroy St., will provide various services including curling and straightening as well as designing hairstyles with special jewel hair clips.
“We wanted to help women enjoy the evening. We thought styling would be a fun thing to do,” studio owner Andrea Miller said. “I am a mom of two kids and I know it’s great to get out of the house.”
Various local vendors will also attend the event to showcase their products.
Tickets are $8 at the door and everyone will receive a gift bag that includes shampoo, conditioner, makeup and other items. There will also be light refreshments and door prizes available.
Balint said the event has not changed a lot in the past 10 years despite growing to nearly 200 attendees.
“We stick to the same formula,” she said. “People seem to like it.”
Balint said the free massage is always popular with attendees. Natural Elements Massage will be on hand to offer their services.
“(The event) is basically anything a woman would like,” Balint said.
