VG's Quick Stop Open for Business

Ribbon-cutting ceremony marks official opening of fueling station.

Fenton now has a one stop shop for gas and groceries.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony held Tuesday morning at the new VG's Quick Stop and was attended by more than 20 people, including representatives from the city of Fenton, VG's Grocery, Spartan Stores and the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The VG's Quick Stop is now officially open for business.

Before the ribbon was cut, Brian Haaraoja, senior vice president/general Manager of VG's Grocery Eastern Division, gave some opening remarks. He thanked the city of Fenton for its support and partnering with local businesses. He also thanked Rhoads & Johnson for constructing "such a beautiful building, and the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce for its support, especially through its "Shop Local" program.

"And to see so many Chamber members here is a wonderful, unexpected surprise," Haaraoja said.

Shelly Day, president of the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor Pro Tem John Rauch, each thanked VG's for growing its business locally with the new fuel stop, and for the number of jobs the corporation provides and its ongoing support for Fenton programs and events.

According to Haaraoja, VG's Quick Stop was built as a convenience for its food store customers.

"Fuel is very costly these days," Haaraoja said. "Through our ongoing promotions, customers can save anywhere from 5 cents to a whole gallon on gasoline."

He urged customers to keep doing what they're doing, come to VG's for their groceries and visit the Quick Stop for their fueling needs.

VG's Quick Stop is at 18001 Silver Parkway. Hours are 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sunday. Matt Pappas is the manager. The phone number is (810) 714-1440.
