Baker College of Flint will host its fifth annual Car and Motorcycle Show, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 18. Car and motorcycle enthusiasts, as well as the general public, are invited to attend the free event at Baker College’s Center for Transportation Technology (CTT), 1717 S. Dort Highway, Flint.
More than 350 cars and motorcycles are expected to be on display. There will also be a DJ, live music, vendors, refreshments, on-going tours of the CTT facility, a drawing for a $1,000 CTT scholarship and even an Abraham Lincoln impersonator. Honest Abe will be available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for photos near Baker's fully restored and modified 1969 Lincoln Continental.
“This is a great event that brings together area car and motorcycle enthusiasts for a day of fun and comradery,” said Phillip Whitmer, Baker College of Flint dean of transportation technology. “The event also allows students to showoff the skillful work they've accomplished in Baker classes. On display will be a 1941 Dodge that's in process of full restoration and a 2013 Mustang and Hyundai that the students have upgraded and renovated.”

Car and motorcycle entries will be accepted 9 a.m. to noon on the day of the show. There is no registration fee. Clubs can be parked together if they give prior notice. The first 100 entrants will receive free lunch, dash plaques and goodie bags. All entrants will be eligible for prizes throughout the show.
Previous year’s entrants have included a 1940 Ford coupe, a 1911 Whiting, an assembled open roadster, a 2011 Golgotha Sanctified motorcycle, a 1942 Harley Davidson, a 1923 T Bucket and a variety of classics, modified models, rat rods, tuners and low riders.

The day’s events include:
· Live music
· Merchandise, service and food vendors (free water while supplies last)
· Awards ceremony at approximately 2:45 p.m. for the top 25 cars, top 10 motorcycles and other awards, including President’s Choice, Dean’s Choice and Best of Show.
· Drawing for a $1,000 scholarship for any program offered at the CTT: auto body technician, automotive services technology, automotive service management, supply chain management, small engine and power sports technology, truck driving, automotive restoration technician and welding.
· Opportunity to measure your vehicle’s torque, horsepower and quarter-mile elapsed time on a chassis dynamometer by the Baker College student group Vehicle City Gear Head Club for a $20 club donation.
· On-going tours of the CTT facility, including Baker’s up-to-date automotive, computer and truck labs, classrooms, multimedia rooms and the welding and restoration lab.
Free parking and shuttle service will be available at the Perani Arena & Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Road, with handicapped parking permitted at the CTT.
Vendors are invited to set up booths and will be given a goodie bag, dash plaque and lunch ticket. There is no charge for vendors, but they must pre-register. Vendor setup time is 7:30 a.m.
