Virginia Tech Massacre Survivor to Speak with Livingston Dems after Film Showing

Livingston County Democrats will show a film featuring a survivor of the Virginia Tech massacre later this month.

The film, Living for 32, tells the story of Colin Goddard who was a student at Virginia Tech University on April 16, 2007, when a gunman opened fire on campus, killing 32 people and injuring 17. Goddard played a key role that day. Although shot four times, he was able to use his cell phone to notify police of the incident.

“Colin’s story is very inspiring. As a survivor of the massacre, he has felt obligated to devote his time to the cause of gun safety in memory of his classmates who died that day. We are honored that Colin will be able to join us by way of Skype after the screening to talk about how to reduce the likelihood of such incidents,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair Livingston County Democrats.
