A $6,000 Pie? Fenton Applefest Prize Winner Draws Top Dollar at Auction

The pie auction was part of the 41st annual St. John Parish Applefest in Fenton.

The homemade pie named "best pie" at the St. John Parish Applefest over the weekend drew $6,000 in a pie auction held during the annual festival.

The pie, made by Sandy Tryles, was one of 27 pies entered into the pie contest during the 41st annual Applefest in Fenton Sept. 12-15, according to an article at MLive.com.

The pie auction raised a total of $9,100 from selling the top three entries, MLive.com reports.
