The National Weather Service's forecast for today is showers likely (70 percent chance) with a high of 81. Tonight's forecast is partly cloudy with a low of 58.

2. Filling the Tank

The lowest gas prices in Fenton late Sunday night were $3.87 per gallon, according to Mapquest Gas Prices. Stations offering this price were Speedway #8405 (discount available), 3245 Owen Rd.; Speedway #5509 (discount available), 3340 Owen Rd., and Fenton Marathon, 402 W. Silver Lake Rd.

3. News

Stockbridge Township Supervisor Paul Risner, also a Livingston County Road Commission employee, was in critical condition Friday after being struck by an SUV on Thursday while he was filling a road commission water tank on Faussett Road, east of Latson Road in Deerfield Township, the Livingston Daily reported Sunday. The SUV struck Risner after glancing off his work truck, and the driver of the Escape was taken to a hospital for shock.

4. Events

The Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St. in Fenton, is hosting a free from 4:15-5:15 p.m. today. There is a suggested donation of $5, with part of the proceeds helping children's ministries.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival theme for this weekend is High Seas Adventures, Sept. 1-3. To receive $5 off admission, bring four non-perishable food items for Lighthouse of Oakland County.
