Tonight is the second full moon to occur this month, which is called a "blue moon," the Oakland Press reported. It doesn't mean the moon's color will be blue, though. There were two blue moons during 1999, with the next year for two blue moons coming up in 2018.

Looking for fun on a Friday? The State Bank and Southern Lakes Parks & Recreation sponsor beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center. Seniors can participate for the day, or part of it, with activities such as bingo ($1 to participate), bunco ($1), line dancing ($2), Wii bowling, crafts and euchre. Lunch is $4 and can be reserved by calling (810) 714-2011.
5. Looking Ahead
A new sports bar is opening in Hartland in the former Grille 23 location, 1535 Old U.S. 23, on Sept. 10, reports. The new owner of Tags Sports Bar, Jeff Fischer, said he wants to create a welcoming place for families, sports fans and food lovers.
