1. Weather for the Flint area is expected to reach a high of 82 degrees and be mostly sunny. The National Weather Service also predicts it could become mostly cloudy at night, with a low of 62.
2. Gas prices in the Fenton area on Thursday night reached a low of $3.49 at the Owen Road BP Food Shop and the Sunoco on Owen Road. The highest price, $3.59, was at Exit 80 Inc.
3. The practice of canning fruits and vegetables is making a comeback as more people become involved in gardening, buy produce at farmers markets and visit pick-your-own farms. An article in the Detroit Free Press states Jarden Home Brands, manufacturers of Ball canning products, have seen sales increase nearly 35 percent in the past three years.

4. Reunion With a Cause is from 6-10:30 p.m. at Holly High School. It includes walking laps around the track, entertainment and refreshments, with all donations going to help cancer patients at Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute with expenses not covered by health insurance.
5. Fenton Village Players will present Anything Goes at 7 p.m. at 14197 Torrey Rd. in Fenton. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students and $8 for children.
