Halloween Walk Coming to Fenton

Tanglewood Assisted Living sponsoring new creepy event.

John Strayer once witnessed a parade of zombies and couldn't get the image out of his head.

Now the Fenton resident and owner of wants to bring a little bit of that Halloween fun to town.

He is helping to organize a Halloween parade from the corner of to the .

“I got the idea when I was sitting at a restaurant and they were having a zombie walk,” Strayer said. “I wanted to expand on that. I thought it was kind of cool. I wanted to do the same thing here and meander down the sidewalk.”

Strayer said anyone in costume is invited to join the march, which will have violin players leading the way with some creepy music.

"Halloween is my favorite holiday," Strayer said.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 22.  After the parade, an old vampire film will be shown at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center. The Halloween party, with food from and photos from , will continue until 9 p.m. Participation will be free for those in costume.

“We are hoping to see everything from zombies to sleeping beauty,” Strayer said.
