If Your Emergency is an Urgent Need for a Burger, Don't Call the Fire Department

Emergency dispatchers are getting some interesting calls about reservations, hours and the menu at the new Fenton Fire Hall restaurant, which opened last week.

The Fenton Fire Hall is catching fire as customers line up after the restaurant’s long awaited opening last week.

But don’t call the fire department for a reservation. Don’t do that, even if your need for a Fenton Fire Hall burger is urgent. Too many people are already tying up emergency lines, The Flint Journal reports.

Instead, call (810) 936-0442.

If you set the kitchen on fire trying to replicate the new restaurant’s menu or have some other fire emergency, dial 911. If you need to talk to the department about non-emergency matters, call (810) 629-8595.

The confusion is understandable. The new restaurant is located in an old fire hall and its number isn’t widely publicized.

“We’re taking it all in stride,” Fenton Fire Chief Bob Cairnduff said.

Dispatchers have received some interesting calls as a result of the mix-up.

"One of the main lines goes straight to our dispatch center, so they're taking calls at our dispatch center trying to make reservations," the chief said.

For the record, the restaurant doesn’t take reservations.
