Memory Tree at Fenton's Oakwood Cemetery is Ready for Decorating
Participants can honor a loved one, deceased or living, by placing a non-glass ornament on the tree at the cemetery.
The Memory Tree in Fenton’s Oakwood Cemetery is up and ready for people to place ornaments. of Fenton, donated the evergreen, which it has done for three years, said Cemetery Board President Doug Tebo.
People can hang an ornament to honor a loved one’s memory, or just to honor a loved one who is deceased or living, Tebo said. Members of the military can be honored in this way.
“We’ve had great response from it,” he said.

All participants need to do is bring an ornament — homemade or from a store — and place it on the tree. Because of the possibility of breaking, no glass ornaments should be used, he said. People can write their own message on the ornament, or a name.
The opportunity is free to those who would like to participate. Oakwood Cemetery is located at the end of Davis Street in Fenton, south off of Shiawassee Avenue.
