Volunteers Needed to Help Senior Homeowners

Join Tri-County Christmas in Action – which serves low-income and disabled seniors in Fenton and nearby communities – on April 27 to provide free home repairs.

Tri-County Christmas in Action is seeking volunteers to provide free home repairs to low-income and disabled senior homeowners April 27.

"The local business community, civic organizations, church groups and schools support this community project. We have many opportunities for you to become involved," Christmas in Action's website says. "Come experience the difference you can make in your community in one day!"

Christmas in Action is a nonprofit that serves seniors in Fenton, Holly and Linden, as well as Rose, Tyrone and Argentine townships.

"By volunteering you can help low-income seniors remain safely in their homes and improve the community for everyone to live and work," the organization's website says.

Skilled and unskilled volunteers are needed to clean, paint, remodel bathrooms, install hand rails and smoke detectors, complete yard work, help serve meals and more, according to Christmas in Action.

The group will welcome the following donations, as well.

  • Food and drinks.
  • Dumpsters.
  • Port-a-johns.
  • Licensed contractors' services.
  • Materials including paint supplies.
