A news release:
The Fenton Kiwanis Club is recruiting arts for the 36th annual Art Fair to be held next fall.
The event will take place Lake Fenton High School on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-21. The show will be located indoors and volunteers will available the day of the show to assist artists with loading, unloading or set up.
To improve and attract area artists to the show, the Art Prize contest will be held for the third time with this year’s event.
The general public will be voting on pieces pre- registered by the artists on the day of the show. A prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the work of art garnering the most public votes. The deadline for registering for Art Prize is Aug. 15. In addition to the Art Prize contest, prizes will be awarded to three top booths determined by a committee of qualified judges.
If you are interested in donating a piece of your work to Kiwanis, we will be holding a silent auction in conjunction with the Art Fair. All proceeds will be used for service projects benefiting children in the Fenton area.
Youth are invited to submit work for the Youth Art Show that will be held along with the Art Fair at the Lake Fenton High School. For more information about the Youth Art Show, please contact Kathleen Conover at (810) 591-3617.
In addition to the Art Fair, the Kiwanis Club will be offering concessions, a raffle, entertainment, and activities for children.
For businesses that are interested in preserving the arts, the club offers various levels of sponsorships. For a very small amount, businesses can contribute and support the Kiwanis Club and ensure the future of the event.
