Concert in the Park and Music by the Mill Planning is Underway

We might be digging out of the snow, but it's never too early to start planning for summer. Fenton and Linden announce summer music schedules.

Hot summer evenings filled with music and family fun may seem like a distant dream, but planning for Fenton’s Concert in the Park and Linden’s Music by the Mill Series is already underway. 

has scheduled and managed the concerts for the past eight years and has worked on Linden’s music series for five years.  This year, SLPR has contracted KJohnston Presents… to coordinate both communities’ events. 

The Fenton and Linden series are being organized in tandem to allow for musical genre coordination as well as artist fee negotiation purposes.

“Community cooperation is key for the success of arts & cultural events in our area,” stated Linden City Manager, Chris Wren. “Coordinating these event together is a real positive.”

The Concerts in the Park in Fenton will kick off on June 2 and continue through August 25. For several weeks of the series, the concerts coincide with the Fenton Farmers’ Market, which runs July 14 through September 29.

Performers range from children’s musicians, like Chatauqua Express, to Big Band ensembles, like Tuxedo Junction.  Country, oldies, blues, and cover bands are also often featured in the event. 

The Concerts in the Park are on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fenton Millpond Gazebo and are funded by the Fenton Downtown Development Authority. In the event of inclement weather the concerts move indoors to the .

Linden’s Music by the Mill shows start with a special performance at the city’s annual Memorial Day picnic and continue on Wednesday evenings starting July 27 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Linden Millpond Gazebo. 

The Linden series was expanded this year to also correspond with the Linden Farmers’ Market. The Linden performances include a variety of musicians to appeal to people of any age or interest. The City of Linden sponsors the concerts and provides Department of Public Works employees as supervision for the shows. The Lakes Area Arts Council is also a sponsor of this year’s music in Linden.
