I am That Magic Guy, on Youtube.

This Magician is taking his act to Youtube. Have you seen that magic guy on the internet? I am That Magic Guy!

I know I often only blog about outdoor topics. However, this is close to my heart and I wanted to share it with the Patch readers.

The talent industry sure has changed since the internet has come about. Wow what an opening statement right? Take musicians and comics for example. Gone are the days of working hard going from open mic night to open mic night just hoping that the right talent executive is there having a beer by chance. The days of paying for your own studio time, recording a demo and then mailing it out to hundreds of record companies or talent executives in hopes that it will at least be used as a coaster is a distant memory as well. Now what, does an up and coming artist use you may ask. Youtube.

Ever heard of Justin Bieber? Of course you have. However if you answered no then you are one of the lucky ones. How did Bieber get his start? Justin Timberlake saw him on Youtube. The band OKGO went from a well rehearsed indie band playing small clubs in college towns to a household name overnight with a music video they shot themselves featuring them dancing on multiple treadmills, guess how? Youtube.

Now please understand I am not discrediting anyone’s talent. I am more commenting on how easy it is to release your own content to the world now. A simple laptop is all that is needed. With a myriad of video editing and sound capturing software out there one can film, record, edit and produce anything they want. The amazing thing is it all can be done from your own kitchen table.

Most of you know I am a magician. I have traveled doing public shows and private corporate events throughout the country.

It is now that I would like to make an announcement.

I am going to Youtube. I have partnered with a documentary film maker named Justin Haight whose latest film “Where the Yellowstone Goes” is amazing and receiving high regards. Haight and I have begun a Youtube project titled “I am That Magic Guy”. Have you seen that magic guy on Youtube? I am that magic guy (get it?)

Our show will feature me performing in both street and stage like venues as well as some educational moments where I teach a trick or two. Every episode will be professionally filmed, sound engineered, edited and posted all from a laptop. Think of “I am That Magic Guy” as David Blaine and Chris Angel but with no camera tricks. “I am That Magic Guy” episodes will feature all real sleight of hand and sleight of mind with no special effects or planted audience members.

Here is what I am asking from you, my patch readers. In order to have our Youtube channel be a hit we need subscribers. Subscribing on Youtube is easy to do and the best part is is absolutely free. All you have to do is visit the “I am That Magic Guy” Youtube page listed below and click subscribe. You will then be notified when each new episode is released.

Also if you would be so kind to “Like” us on Facebook and “Follow” us on twitter if you use those social media services as well. All the links are below.

Will I be the next Justin Beber or OKGO? Probably not but that is not necessarily what we are going for. The goal is to produce a good, entertaining show in small 5 minute episodes. That makes the subscriber both laugh and be amazed. If it takes off and you see me on your TV one day then you can say “Hey I was watching that magic guy long before he was on TV!”

Thanks everyone from the bottom of our hearts, Abracadabra.
