$1.35 Million Home Sells in Fenton Township

The 7,000 square foot home sits on the Emerald Pointe peninsula at the north end of Lake Ponemah.

announced that Realtor and Broker John Tremaine has sold a single-family residence in Fenton Township for $1.35 million dollars, making it the highest priced home sold in Genesee County in 2011.

The 7,000 square foot home sits on the Emerald Pointe peninsula at the north end of Lake Ponemah in Fenton Township. It includes five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a theatre, granite and marble floors, and a combined indoor spa and swimming pool.

The most prominent feature of the home is a built-in 400 gallon salt-water aquarium opposite the circular staircase in the main entrance foyer.

“The market has changed,” said John Tremaine. “But there are still buyers looking for value in every price range. I’ve sold half of the million dollar lakefront properties in the Fenton area, yet it was still surprising to find a cash buyer who appreciates the quality and value of a custom-built home.”

Tremaine noted that it is more difficult to find buyers for million-dollar homes today than it was five years ago. For example, the buyer discovered the property and made an offer after viewing the online video John created.

“Buyers exist for great homes,” he said. “But putting up a sign and waiting for the phone to ring doesn’t work in real estate anymore. It takes the latest technology like online videos and listing with multiple online services for buyers to find them.”
