Black Friday Deals to Start on Thanksgiving Day

Fenton stores Target, K-Mart and Walmart will have Black Friday Deals.

Black Friday shopping isn't for the faint of heart. But if you're already ad prioritizing and store strategizing, the fact that several area big-box retailers are gearing up to open their doors even earlier this year - starting Thanksgiving Day - won't surprise you.

Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on that Thursday, Nov. 22 and offer holiday doorbusters, while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39.

But its not alone. Target, some Old Navy stores, K-Mart, Toys R Us and Sears are planning all-out holiday shopping assaults for Black Friday.

Target's deals begin an hour later, at 9 p.m. According to an ad leaked online, the best deals will be for a Nook, TVs, a Nikon camera and an XBOX 360 Kinect bundle.

Walmart, which opens at 8 p.m., will offer its biggest deals from 10-11 p.m. Thanksgiving night. The store will offer three items at low prices—an iPad, a TV and a Blu-Ray player—and if the store runs out, you can still buy them but must register for them online by midnight and they'll be delivered to your local store.

K-Mart opens at 8 p.m. and deals include a 50 inch Proscan LCD 1080p HDTV for $288. At least four are promised to be at each store. And all footwear is buy one get one free.

Sears also opens at 8 p.m. Their ad promises a 27 cubic foot stainless Kenmore refridgerator for $1299 and 2 carat diamond jewelery for $99.

According to TheBlackFriday.com, several other stores will also have "doorbuster" sales at midnight Friday, including Kohl's.

“We know that consumers want to create a dream holiday for themselves and their families, but also need to stay within their budget, so Kohl’s is delivering great gift options and unprecedented value,” said Kevin Mansell, Kohl’s chairman, president and chief executive officer in a news release. “Our Black Friday sales event is providing deeper savings opportunities and inspiring shopping experiences in store, online and through mobile devices. We believe the combination of exceptional savings and customer-friendly policies and conveniences serves as an important point of differentiation and positions us well this holiday season.”

For the early morning traditionalists, several stores open at 4 a.m. with special sales. If you want to keep up with all of the Black Friday deals, you can check your favorite retailers' Facebook pages.
