The Medich family, Dan Sr., Martha, Dan Jr., and Nicole have relocated , a destination store, to an intimate corner complex in Fenton - a short distance east of US 23 on the South side of Silver Lake Road.
Dan Medich Sr., with his successful retail roots, set the renown ‘Imperial Sports’ chain in motion.
“Dan is the energy behind everything and what keeps all of us going.” Said Martha, his wife.
He and Martha built Imperial Sports to 47 stores located in four states. They sold the business in the late ‘80s and retired. But, that retail passion gene could not stay dormant for long and emerged the next generation in their daughter, Nicole Bergeron.
Nicole began Eclections on Fenton’s Silver Parkway in May of 2007. She started with a photography studio in the back and a small boutique in the front of the store – to sort of ‘pay the bills.’
“Before we knew it, both took off and skyrocketed,” said Martha.
That made it necessary to choose just one business to concentrate on and the family chose the boutique.
Since then, Elections has added square footage in order to satisfy its customers’ needs many times. Their new site gives them 4,700 square feet of retail space and much more storage, both of which are a total plus and a real need.
“Fenton is our home and we have our business here because we want to stay close,” said Martha.
Nicole appreciates their customers’ loyalty and said, “We feel so fortunate that Fenton supports us and that they choose to come to us rather than the mall. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them!”
Watch for Eclections to make the new complex their own in the next few months with a variety of improvements including new metal awnings outside and new décor inside. Eclections carries brands like Miss Me, Vera Bradley, Lego Watches for the kids, Brighton, and much more.
