Fenton Winery & Brewery Owners Close Deal on Former Creative Wood Property

Matt and Ginny Sherrow will install a larger brewing system, more wine-making equipment and a retail store.

Matt and Ginny Sherrow's dream of having their own location for the became an official reality on Tuesday.

The couple closed the deal to purchase the former Creative Wood property at 1370 North Long Lake Road in Fenton Township. The for the 19,000 square foot building in June.

"It felt great, a little surreal though," Matt said. "I think it's just starting to sink in that the place is actually ours now."

The Sherrows will be installing a larger brewery system and more wine-making equipment, along with opening a homebrew and wine-making store in the back building. The property will also include a beer garden, an outdoor seating area where beer and food can be served.

"The possibilities here are endless with the large open deck, spacious patio and beautiful yard with wetlands and a retention pond," Matt said in the Fenton Winery & Brewery newsletter.

The building is nearly 19,000 square feet with 6,000 square feet of retail, office and storage space along with a 10,000 square foot warehouse on five acres. The couple had always hoped to move into their own location at some point, they just didn’t believe that opportunity would come so soon. They to their North Leroy location in the Lake Winds Plaza in November, which doubled the size of the bar.

“It’s exciting and scary for us at the same time,” Ginny said in June.

Congrats to both of you! I am sure that this will be a lot of headaches but in the long run will be a great move for the future and secure your place in the brewing community.
