First Fenton Art Walk Deemed a Sucess

Nearly 200 people attend inaugural event.

Nearly 200 people crowded the streets of Fenton Friday to observe local art and visit area businesses.

A total of and more than participated in the inaugural Fenton Art Walk, put on by the Fenton Downtown Development Authority and their marketing firm, New Moon Visions, along with Fenton Patch.

"There was times I was looking down the sidewalk and couldn't see," said Natalie Burg, of New Moon Visions, who helped organize the event. "We had good traffic in Dibbleville and on North LeRoy Street. People were serious about getting the passport stamped. It was a highly competitive art walk."

Young and old received a passport with locations and instructions of the art and visited local businesses to have the passport stamped, which could later be redeemed for prizes.

"The Art Walk is fabulous. It is a wonderful turnout, especially for the event kickoff," said Kirsty Rising of . "Fenton is ready for more cultural events."

Fenton Patch also handed out prizes, gave out information about the website and helped run the information booth.

"It was a pretty good turnout for our first try at it," said Fenton Downtown Development Authority Chairman Craig Schmidt. "I think it is a good thing for the community."
