'Hunger Games' DVD Comes Out Saturday, Fenton Library Expects to Receive It Next Week

Wal-Mart will also get in on the excitement by hosting a midnight release party, 11-11:59 p.m. Aug. 17 in Fenton.

The Hunger Games DVD isn't scheduled to be released until tomorrow, but the Wal-Mart in Fenton is celebrating it late Friday night.

There's no telling how well the DVD will sell, but having broken several records during its opening weekend in North America, the odds are in the film's favor.

If you find yourself unable to wait to borrow a copy from a library, Wal-Mart stores are selling the film at midnight, hosting midnight release parties across the country, including the store in Fenton.

Starting at 11 p.m., Wal-Mart says its parties will feature exclusive content airing in-store, movie trivia and more. Fans who purchase the DVD at midnight will also receive a special pack of collectible The Hunger Games trading cards, with random packs including autographed cards from one of the cast members including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. This offer will be available while supplies last.

The following stores will be hosting midnight release parties:

Supercenter

Wal-Mart

The Fenton Jack R. Winegarden Library expects to receive the DVD next week, possibly Thursday. No holds can be placed on DVDs, so it's first come, first served when The Hunger Games arrives.
