Kaleidoscope Therapeutic Touch Opens on Leroy Street

Fenton has new way to relax.

Kaleidoscope Therapeutic Touch recently opened for business, offering massage and Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
 
Inside the unassuming office building, owners Heather Carney-Salsbury and Shante Nichols have created a sanctuary for relaxation. Kaleidoscope Therapeutic Touch is located at 102 N. Leroy St. The walls of the waiting room are a soft green, gentle music plays in the background.

Carney-Salsbury and Nichols each have their own rooms for massage and Reiki.

“We’ve been in the building since January,” said Nichols, “We really made it our own.”

All of the design elements were chosen to make the environment warm and welcoming, she said.
 
Taking its name from the Greek for “observer of beautiful forms," Kaleidoscope Therapeutic Touch is a new endeavor for Carney-Salsbury and Nichols, who have worked together for five years. They have been planning their business since October of 2010, and opened in February.
 
Carney-Salsbury is the massage therapist of the practice. She performs traditional massage techniques, like sports massage and Swedish massage, as well as bodywork therapies. Nichols is the Reiki practitioner. Reiki is a technique that Nichols says encourages the body’s own healing and realigns the body's energy. Nichols has practiced Reiki for three years.

“It’s very calming and soothing,” said Nichols.
 
In addition to their individual practices, Carney-Salsbury and Nichols are pioneering a new technique.

Carney-Nichols said Reiki massage fusion  involves the combination of a Reiki treatment with a massage. Carney-Salsbury and Nichols work on the client at the same time, and clients receive the benefits of both treatments. It is available for individuals and couples.
 
Carney-Salsbury and Nichols are happy to be in Fenton.

“The community has been very welcoming,” said Carney-Salsbury.
