Skate, Snowboard Park Opens in Fenton

Fenton couple says Misfit Lab nearly complete.

The Hamiltons never gave up on their vision of giving .

The Fenton couple, Shaun and Tera, has worked hard for more than a year to make their dream a reality. And although the facility is not completely finished, doors opened Saturday to many eager skaters and boarders.

“It feels good,” Shaun said. “Not one person walked away saying it was a bad setup.”

Concrete still needs to be poured in the walls and a foam pit needs to be completed, but the business was granted a 15-day temporary license to open and once it passes final inspection, it will be open for good.

Shaun said the snow park is nearly complete and the skate park is halfway done. The cost to ride will be $20 after becoming certified in either section or $30 for access to all areas.

“The kids in Fenton haven’t had anything like this for years,” Shaun said. “It’s their park, not ours.”

The facility is located at 400 Fenway Drive. Misfit Lab is open from noon until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon until midnight on Friday, 10 a.m. until midnight on Saturday and 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday.

"It's definitely what this town needs," Fenton resident A.J. Beadle, who visited the park over the weekend, said via Twitter. "The end product is going to be so good."
