There was plenty of business news in Fenton during 2012.

Old Fenton Fire Hall

The top business news in Fenton in 2012 had to be the old Fenton Fire Hall. The Fenton Downtown Development Authority had a lease agreement with Michigan Brewing Company officials, but after many delays, the DDA eventually terminated the lease after MBC officials were evicted from their headquarters in Webberville.

The DDA accepted four new applications and finally chose the Clarkston Union owners over the Arbor Brewing Company to renovate the building. Now the Clarkston Union owners are set to begin construction.

ReSale 360

Another big story in 2012 came when ReSale 360 closed. Fenton Police received more than 100 complaints about the Fenton ReSale 360 shop, which closed its doors, but many consignors said they were owed money or property. Police investigated the complaints, but no charges were made.

Fenton Winery and Brewery

Owners Matt and Ginny Sherrow won an online auction for the former Creative Wood Property and plan to move operations to the new location.

Fenton Cinema

Many suitors have tried to gather funds to resurrect the old Fenton Cinema, but none have been successful.

  • Spoonz Lakeside Tavern Opened in the former Tee Bone'z location.
  • Gatsby Grind has aimed to be Fenton's living room.
  • Panda Water Ice Company brought sweet treats to Fenton.
  • Culver's Opened on Owen Road.
  • Fenton got a new bakery as Crust Opened.
