The family, which has always lived in Genesee County, is excited to open its first storefront in Fenton, which will take the former location of Edge Gallery at 409 South Leroy Street.

“I have always loved Fenton. I love the balance between cozy, quaint town and booming, busy city that Fenton has been able to maintain where other cities in this area have moved away from,” Nick Karayanis said. “We love the feel of downtown Fenton. We love our location. The historic feel and the exposed brick interior gives the space so much character.”

Construction has begun at the location and Nick Karayanis hopes his family will be able to start making cupcakes soon. Round Town’s cupcakes will be bit larger than normal and made from scratch.

“Another aspect that sets us apart are our decorations. My mother is an artist and she loves using that talent to make each decoration by hand with great attention to detail. Every decoration we make is 100 percent edible,” Karayanis said.

Flavors include Coffee and Cream, Grasshopper, The Joe Cool Blueberry Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue Pie and more. They also can be made with different logos, pictures and designs.

“I grew up with my mom always baking something in the kitchen. She learned from her grandmother and passed that knowledge onto me. We even use some of my great grandmother's recipes today,” Nick Karayanis  said. “There's something about being in the kitchen with your mom that instantly takes you back to your childhood."
