Spoonz Lakeside Tavern set to Open Soon in Fenton

Officials plans to open the bar/restaurant in the former Tee Bone'z location this fall.

It won’t be long until a new bar/restaurant is ready to open its doors in Fenton.

The which will now be called Spoonz Lakeside Tavern, could be open by November.

Crews have been working hard putting in a new hardwood floor, adding new tables and placing 10 televisions. There is also a new finish on top of the bar and local artist painted a new sign that hangs at the center of the new establishment.

“We’ve repaired what was destroyed and replaced the obsolete,” said project consultant Leroy Minto. “It’s been like a jigsaw puzzle, but it’s been a great project.”

Outdoors, about one-third of the deck that overlooks Lake Ponemah had to be replaced and new speakers have been added. There will also be a patio bar. Minto said owner Scott Spooner picked up the liquor license for the location Monday.

In the back, a new walk-in cooler was put in and much of the kitchen has been modified and will have a pre-inspection from the health department Thursday, according to Minto.

A chef has been hired to oversee the beach bar grub and pizza menu featuring a nautical theme that will include clams, fish and seafood chowder along with sandwiches, burgers, pizza, steak and chicken.

Crews have been working since April and hope to finish soon.

“We are looking at the end of the month or the first couple weeks of November,” Minto said.
