Fenton Couple Wins Award for Same-Day Wedding Videos

Aaron and Shelby Mayberry own and operate Style & Motion, a wedding photography and video business.

Once Aaron Mayberry, 28, got married, he figured he was pretty done with weddings, except perhaps for the occasional invitation.

He certainly didn’t think he’d be traveling the country attending weddings as a big part of his career.

The Fenton resident and his wife started Style & Motion, a wedding videography company, as a side business in 2009. However, the company’s popularity grew and it became a full time gig for the couple.

“If someone told me we'd be traveling all over the place filming weddings for $5,000, I would of called them crazy,” Mayberry said.

The couple also owns and operates Mayberry Media, a company that produces commercials, web design and photography.

“Our main focus is producing a creative storytelling approach to a wedding video.  We spend two weeks editing a 15 minute film that tells a story,” Mayberry said.

The couple also focuses on same day edits, where they create a three-minute video from a wedding quickly, so it can be shown at the reception. They recently won a Michigan Video Association award for their same day edit videos for the second straight year.

"It's extremely stressful and extremely rewarding when the bride and groom start tearing up 30 seconds into the video," Mayberry said.

Mayberry studied film and video production in Florida. He then worked at Fox 66 and a video production company in Royal Oak from 2005 to 2009. When the couple started their own company part-time in 2008, it only took a few months for them to switch to full-time.

"We start with emotions and storytelling. Once we have our foundation, we build on it with creative and compelling video to build on it.  We have the same philosophy with our commercial work," Mayberry said. "We also put a lot of care and passion into our projects. If a film isn't coming to the quality we want, we'll start all over."

The Style & Motion owners have made couples happy across the state and country, including newlyweds Raquel and Jason Reschke, of New Boston.

"I did a lot of research for a videographer in the area. For the price they were offering and the quality they had, I have no complaints. They were easy to work with.

"I was very happy with the results. Everyone I've showed the trailer to told me they got emotional."

Baker may be a great trade school for some but just remember that it is not transferable to anyRead More other school or university.

You need to know that if you live around children that you can control your animal. Pitbulls are theRead More most powerful dog that there is. They can jump a 4 foot tall fence. You have to consider would you let your pitbull play with a two year old? There are kids in neighborhoods that play and these dogs can overpower and chew up several adults if it desired to. There are several pitbulls in Fenton and they always snarl and bark aggressively at my 17 month old. Pitbulls seem to dislike wagons and anything on wheels on sidewalks. This is why I despise them. I don't appreciate dogs acting aggressively towards infants and I don't know why anyone would want a dog with the most powerful jaw and meanest temperament of all dogs. These dogs where breed to be vicious, strong and relentless; please don't forget that. Every pitbull owner whose dog chewed up an old lady, a baby, or others always says the same thing " he was the nicest dog, he would lick you to death."

Thank you Karen, pitbull owners need to take very special care in "socializing" theirRead More animals and take very extreme precautions for their dogs. The average adult can fend off most breeds of dogs accept for pitbulls and children do not stand a chance. Please be aware of the uncontrollable dangers of these dogs.
