Long Time No Blog!

Random jarble from me. Read and enjoy! Is jarble even a word??

Hello Fenton Patch peeps, long time no blog! To the one reading these very words, how are you doing today? I've had on two occasions where I asked two older people how they were doing and they smiled big and replied, "Honey, if you wake up in the morning, it's always a good day." It doesn't take much thought to realize, they're right.

You never know when your clock stops ticking. So it is definitely a fine thing to open your eyes in the morning and know you are living to see another day, whether it be 'good' or 'bad'.

Another thing that just popped into my head was something my mom always told me when I was in high school three years ago. (I'm a big, bad, UM college chick now--sarcasm intended on the big, bad part :) She always reminded me that when I got out into the real world that I would realize who my real friends were and she also told me that good friends come in small quantities with the best qualities. And she was right, of course!

After graduation, I found myself working, going to community college full-time, and just determined to keep busy. In doing so, I realized that not everyone whom I titled 'friends' did not feel the same way about me. Three years later, I still work, go to university, and find myself with a handful of friends I know will last me a lifetime. And I'm perfectly happy with that. Because its true that its all in quality, not quantity. I cannot stress that enough.

It's just amazing what life throws at you when you start to really live your life. But when do we live our lives truly? When we graduate from high school or college? Or when we get a career? Maybe when a family is established or financial security. Some of these may be your definition of living life, but I feel that as long as you are happy and continue to be, then you've really started living.

There are so many things out there to knock you down and make you feel insignificant. Media is the worst offender. You're too fat, too thin, too rich, too poor. You're not the right race, political party, go-getter, etc. Some days I just want to put a hammer through my TV and say a few choice words, but I settle for turning it off and taking a walk instead. Its not in whole fact that its the media drilling these things into our brains. It's the fact that when we hear it so much, we start to believe it and our minds warp to make us become something we're not.

Be yourself, stay true, live life, and always remember that just because you have a different opinion than someone else does not mean you're wrong. And neither are they. It just means we all agree on the fact that we are all different.

I did it again! I turned philosophical! I'll put the blame on my old ethics teacher from Mott. He was an awesome teacher. Well, I hope I gave y'all something to think about, or at least took up enough time before you got to what you really wanted. Until next time!

Signing out,

Chelsea
