On The Road with Donna: Benefit For Elise Miles

Spaghetti Benefit For elise Miles

Hello my friends. It's has been awhile since I have blogged and this is for a very good friend. Take Care, D

Mastoiditis, according to a dictionary, is the inflammation of the mastoid process, usually resulting from an acute infection of the middle ear. Continuous infections of the ear can result to this and a hole forming in the temporal bone. And the end results can be brain fluid leaking into the ear, causing pain, exhaustion, and memory loss.

Elise Miles is a Mid-Michigan native, spending her life helping others and giving without expecting anything back. For years, she has given to the community. She’s worked with Linden Summer Happening , Linden Mill Days and was a sponsor to the little league. Elise spent much of her time working at the Holly Lanes, to which for a few years, she even partially owned to further the happiness of the community. Loving animals and known to be the areas wonderful pet sitter , Elise finished school as a vet tech and interned with Dr. Nelkie and Staff at Mayfair Veterinary clinic in Flint. Elise could also be found at her various other part time jobs – Kmart, Dixie Motor Speedway, Fratz Consignment.Elise is now employed at Smittys Exit 80 station. At home, Elise has the help of her mom and even rents out rooms to those looking for a place. When there is someone who needs help, she’s there without fail.

All her life, Elise has battled ear infection upon ear infection. She never thought anything about them. Living with them, she accepted getting them and kept going. But recently, she decided to visit the doctor. She had been tired and she kept forgetting things. She had to ask directions to places she had been hundreds of times. She couldn’t remember phone numbers or street addresses. When her doctor looked at her, he found brain fluid had been leaking into her ear, causing her to be tired, to be in pain, and to losing her memory. He immediately turned her over to a specialist and surgeon in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan Hospital.

The surgery she will undergo will restructure her temporal bone and stop the brain fluid from escaping into her ear. She will be able to go about her life normally once more, although they are unsure if the memories she has lost will come back.
Elise is a great person, full of love and joy, and it is time we give back to her. A benefit has been set up to help funding for her surgery. It will be held at the Fenton Moose Lodge from 1-4pm on March 10th, 2013. There will be a spaghetti dinner, as well as desserts. Entertainment is being provided by Chelsea Roberts and Russell Wayne. A silent Auction will also be set up during the event with winners announced from 3 to 4 pm. Anyone that would like to donate spaghetti, sauce, desserts , side dishes or silent auction items please contact Donna at 810-691-3157. The cost for the benfit is a 5.00 minimum donation.
