On The Road With Donna - Larry Elliott Talks About Dives on Edmund Fitzgerald at Loose Senior Center

News anchor Larry Elliot talks about the Edmund Fitzgerald at the Loose Senior Center in Linden.

Tonight was a wonderful time at Hope Lutheran Church in Linden.

Loose Senior Center put on a catered dinner with GiGi's catering from Owosso and the guest speaker was Mr. Larry Elliott , the morning news anchor from WJRT Channel 12 .

Larry is also a avid scuba diver and presented his experiences diving the "big Fitz". Actually he has been involved in three expeditions to the Edmund Fitzgerald and in the production of award winning documentaries and also had a write up in the national geographic. Larry presentation also included the Yugo that was blown off the Mackinac bridge and the recovery process. Many ships in Lake Superior including two french ships have yet to be located and divers such as Larry take great pride in being able to locate an share the findings.

The people that came tonight were wonderful, fun and everyone had a great time. The dinner was excellent. Baked fish, turkey, meatballs, mac and cheese, coleslaw, tossed salad, corn, pickle and olive tray, roll and butter, cake, coffee, juice and water. No one went home hungry.

I want to personally thank Larry Elliott and his wife for the fantastic presentation, the staff of Gigi catering for excellent food, the staff and volunteers of Loose Center for setting up this wonderful experience and to our communities that came together tonight for a small town with a big heart experience.
