An Apple a Day...Sometimes Two

Fall in Michigan.

Hi!  How are you?  It has been a while since we have talked, I hope that life has been smiling on you.

I know I am not alone in the feeling of LIFE IS ABSOLUTELY FLYING BY!!!  It is difficult to believe that we are already nearing the end of September.  I just LOVE the fall.

I am asked quite often..."Are you a Peabody like the apple orchard Peabodys?"

Yes that is me.

I grew up on Peabody's Orchard south of town on Foley Road and the love for fall and the excitement around harvest time is in my blood.  I remember the sweet smell of apples just stepping out of the door of the house I grew up in.  I remember walking down to the bus in the morning and grabbing and apple off the tree to take with me...and then returning home in the afternoon and snacking on an apple on the way up from the bus stop.  I ate so many apples as a child, and if "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", no wonder my brothers and I grew up so healthy.

This time of year I get very nostalgic.  I love going to the local orchards and enjoying a caramel apple, which happens to be my most favorite thing in the whole world, and maybe taking a donut home to enjoy for later.  Caramel apples, cider and donuts are the best, but even better than that is the energy that surrounds those places.  The local orchards have really kept up with the times and have a lot of things to entertain the entire family.  I love the smiles, laughter and fun that surround the orchards.  I have been really busy and have not been able to make it yet this year, but I will this weekend and just about once a week until the snow comes.

I also love the fall for cooler temperatures, sweatshirts and jeans, leaves changing colors, college football (GO GREEN!!)...and because it reminds me that snowboarding season is just around the corner!!!  What is your favorite part about fall?
