Fenton's Andrew G. Schmidt Middle School Put on Lockdown
E-mail to parents stated a non-specific threat was found on a computer desk.
Officials put Fenton's l on lockdown Wednesday after finding a non-specific threat.
On Wednesday morning, it was reported to school administrators that there was something suspicious written near a computer desk. When reported to administrators they investigated and found a non-specific threat, according to an e-mail sent to parents.
The school went on lockdown around 11:30 a.m., according to a school employee. The employee said after police determined it was a low risk, the building locked its doors, but students remained in the school. The employee said the doors would remained locked Thursday after a letter would be sent home with students Wednesday.

The e-mail sent to parents stated:
As a building we took secured mode precaution locked doors, conducted building sweeps and limited all hallway travel. In consultation with our Intermediate School District Threat Management Consultant a threat assessment was conducted with the on site. Based on district procedures and input from the Fenton City Police Officers it was determined this threat was a low risk. They directed us to continue our day as normal in secured mode.
The safety of our students and staff is very important and will always be our first priority. We will continue our secured mode throughout the day May 3, 2012. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact AGS Middle School.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro declined to comment, stating it was a school issue. Calls to Fenton Area Public Schools officials were not immediately returned.
The lockdown comes just days after for a perceived threat, and for alledgedly making threats to students at Holly Middle School.
