Fenton Couple Has Adopted 12 Children

Early in 2012, we introduced you to . Ben and Kim have children from Korea, Liberia, China and the United States. They range in age from seven months to 12. Some children have special needs such as developmental delays, down syndrome, cleft lip/plate, post stroke and other disorders.

Fenton Couple's 'Miracle Baby' Happy and Healthy after Premature Birth

A routine ultrasound turned into an unexpected shock and little miracle for Fenton resident Sarah Roach and her husband Matt after pregnancy. Roach delivered that little miracle, named Dexter, after just 28 weeks into her pregnancy.

“It’s absolutely amazing. He is a miracle,” Roach, 28, said about her firstborn son Dexter, who is almost 2-years-old. “Every smile is priceless.”

Elementary Teacher Has Served 4 Tours of Duty

7-year-old Helps Save Man's Life

Dennis Charette, a Holt resident in his 50s, who was visiting his parents on the 10000 block of Lakeshore Drive in Tyrone Township, fell through the ice of Runyan Lake after going out to rescue his dog.

While neighbor Cheryl Collard saw Charette and called 911, her 6-year-old granddaughter Abby Diener ran to get help from neighbors. T.J. Farren and Michael Palmer Hillier Jr. were working on a truck in a nearby garage when Abby came running up for help.

“I went over there all by myself as fast as I could and got them,” Abby said.

81-Year-Old Man Saves Himself After Falling Through Ice on Lake Fenton

After ice fishing on Lake Fenton for more than 50 years, Don Bugala is calling it quits.

The 81-year-old Fenton resident “looked death in the eye” after falling through the ice with no one around to help and has vowed to fish only in the summer for the rest of his life.

“I escaped the grim reaper, and I figure I don’t want to do that anymore,” he said.
