Longtime Fenton Publisher Succumbs to Illness

Richard Rockman, Sr., owner and publisher of the Tri-County Times dies at the age of 81.

The Fenton community is mourning the loss of Tri-County Times Publisher Richard Rockman, Sr., who died March 2, in his Florida home from extended illness.

The founder and publisher of the former Tri-County News, Rockman, a 50-plus veteran of the newspaper business, came out of retirement in April of 1994 and started the a popular twice-weekly newspaper published in Fenton.

Rockman is likely best known for his no-nonsense column, “Straight From the Shoulder.”
