Five Seeking Three Council Seats in Nov. 5 Fenton Municipal Election

Also, Fenton Area Public Schools are seeking renewal of operating millage levy.

Five candidates are seeking three seats on the Fenton City Council in Tuesday’s municipal election, while Mayor Sue Osborn is unopposed.

Candidates for the council positions are Patrick J. Naughton, David McDermott, Bradley Jacob (incumbent), Scott Grossmeyer (incumbent) and Benjamin Smith (incumbent).

Additionally, Fenton Area Public Schools voters will be asked to renew the operating millage (non homestead) levy.

The levy generates $4.2 million annually and has been in place since 1995.

“The district depends on this revenue for the day-to-day operations,” school superintendent Timothy Jalkanen said. “It supports each and every aspect of the entire school district. Without this renewal, the district budget would dramatically be impacted.”
